Ski trip Update

Hello All,
As usual things are changing quickly with regard to the upcoming trip.  We were unable to secure a cabin at Camp Tri-Mount near the Ski Area so, in the name of safety, we will hone our survival skills on Saturday February 21 at a yet-to-be-determined location and then ski on Sunday.  The skiing is intended to be a family event  so we will not be carpooling as a group.  Hopefully we'll see everyone on the slopes.  If you want to take advantage of the low rates you should register as soon as possible.  The deadline is Feb. 13.  Information and a link to register is included below.

Will Saturday, February 21 be an overnight at the survival site or a day event only? Is Sunday skiing a totally separate event? Just trying to put the pieces of the weekend together...thanks!

Saturday will be a day event somewhere in the area.  I haven't put that together yet.  Sunday is a separate event under the guise of "Scouts" but, like last year, is not an official Troop 55 trip.

Everyone should plan to dress warm and bring some lunch.  We'll meet at Linden at 9:00 AM.  Scouts should bring a compass and flint and steel if they have it.  A day pack with drinks and snacks might be a good idea as well.

This week's trip is not an overnight. We are meeting at Linden at 9:00 AM Saturday and we'll be spending the day up at Eagle Rock.  Anyone who's going should bring lunch.  Skiing on Sunday is intended to be "family" style.  Everyone needs to plan to get to Bellaeyre on their own schedule and with their own transportation.

This is not the way the trip was originally intended but the camp we planned to stay at was full and the closest alternative was over two hours from the ski area.  Trying to move the troop at 6:00 AM is a near impossiblity in addition to the numerous other logistical problems we were facing.

Hopefully we'll have more success in March and April.

          Jeff
