April 5 Day Trip
We have set the date for our annual 5-day trip in April. We will be departing for the C&O Canal Saturday 4/25 and returning Wednesday 4/29. This will be a fun trip involving bicycling, camping, climbing and possibly caving and exploration of civil war sites. More details to come soon.
Don't forget the upcoming 5 Boro bike tour. It's May 3 and you can find details at www.bikenewyork.org
Everyone is welcome but Scouts who are 14 and under must come with a parent. Please let me know if you plan to participate.
Finally,
If you haven't paid your dues for the upcoming year yet please remit them to Dan McMahon as soon as possible. Scouts are $85 and adults are $30. If you haven't paid for last years canoe trip it was $65 for each person.

Our planned 5 day trip is coming up, there are details below.
We need to start getting an idea of who's interested in coming. We'll be asking the scouts tonight, who wants to come on the trip. Also, fathers are most welcomed..we are short on adults so far for this outing.

Some notes on the 5 day trip.
1) Please bring a bicycle helmet, if you have one. The rental company has some, but not enough for all of us.
2) These are the people I have coming on the trip. If your name is listed and shouldn't be or if you name is NOT listed and should be..let Jeff or I know. We need to finalize the bike rental by Friday afternoon at 3pm.
This is my list of those going.
John Davitt, Dylan and Jeff Pitcher, Ben and Evan Gates. Nathan Agarwal. Julian. Will and Marc Felix. Cinotti Brothers. And Nick Munson.
3) Costs. We'll bill those going after the trip. But just to give you an idea. We're looking at about $50 for the rappelling on Tuesday and another $50 for the bike rental. Throw in $10 a day for food and the total will likely be near $200.
4) This is the basic rundown of the trip. We'll leave Linden on Saturday morning and drive to Gettysburg to tour the battlefield. We'll camp in tents along the potmac Saturday/Sunday night. The campsite is about 2 hours from Gettysburg.
On Sunday and Monday we'll bike 30 miles(each day..on flat ground) along the C & O canal.
On Tuesday we'll have a professional guide assist us in rappelling.
On Wednesday we drive back home, stopping to tour the Harley Davidson Factory, in York PA.
Side notes: Bring a towel and soap. There will be showers on Monday and Tuesday nights. The scouts who go, will earn Bicyling and Camping merit badges. Be ready for hot and sunny weather.
