We will be leaving Linden at 8 AM Saturday.  All participants should bring lunch with them.   We will be driving to Jim Thorpe, PA where we have reserved mountain bikes for the group.  We will be shuttled to the Lehigh Gorge bike trail which is a converted rail trail.  We'll bike approximately 25 miles back to Jim Thorpe.  Information on the bicycling portion of our journey is here http://www.bikejimthorpe.com/

After biking we'll drive to Hickory Run State Park http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/hickoryrun.aspx where we will camp for the night.  Phillip and Will are in charge of the patrols.  All camping / dining will be by patrol.  See Phillip for additional information.  Senior patrol members are responsible for their own tents and food including Saturday Dinner, Sunday breakfast and any desired snacks and drinks.

Sunday we will break camp and drive to the Sunset Hill Shooting Range:  http://sunsethill.slvrcreek.com/home.htm  we will do a variety of shooting there in the morning and then depart for home by noon.  We should be back by 2 pm.  If Scouts think they will want lunch for the ride home they should prepare for this in advance.  Younger scouts will be limited in the type of gun they will be permitted to shoot but all will have fun!!

What to bring:  Each participant should bring $50 to cover the costs of biking, camping and shooting.  Lunch for Saturday (and Sunday if desired).  A day pack and drinks for the bike ride.  Normal camping stuff like pack, bag, mess kit, change of clothes.  If you have specific questions about what to bring please contact your patrol leader.

We'll see you guys at 8 am Sharp!

    Hello All,
    Just a few reminders....

A new blog thread or a comment to the tread, are sent to you in an e-mail (if you signed up for these updates). When you answer a blog, the details will be shown as a comment on these pages. If you do not want this, you may want to contact the author directly.

If they are a leader in the troop, their contact details are on the troops's web site on the staff page. http://www.glenridgescouts.com/scout/staff/staff.htm
They key "go to" persons are the SPL and ASPL (Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader) and the scout master (Jeff Pitcher).

Posting a comment, such as a question, will benefit the others when they read the answer. Posting a personal item is possible and your choice. Better would be an e-mail to the appropriate person(s).

My e-mail habits tell me that the TO field is the person from whom I am hoping to receive an answer and to whom I am (primarily) addressing the message. The CC field is my expectation to keep another party 'in the loop'. So, if you have a question for the SPL, then place his address in the To field and the ASPL and scout master addresses in the CC field.

Their contact details can be found by following the above link.

If it is urgent - PICK UP THE PHONE and call.
    We do read e-mails, but not 24 / 7.

    Regards,
    Henry Cadmus

    REMINDER:
Please be sure to bring the premission form. One needed for every scout, parent and leader. They are mentioned in the blog:

    http://msg.glenridgescouts.com/2008/10/08/trip-change-for-this-weekend.aspx#Comment

or on the main page of our web site: http://www.glenridgescouts.com/scout/mainBoyScout.htm

You may have included these trips on the (same) form used last weekend, then you do not need to bring another copy.

    Regards,
    Henry
